Good morning. I can't believe how tall my sunflowers are this year. Way over my head.
I took a selfie in the garden this morning so you can see how huge they are. They are just starting to bloom. Love sunflowers.

NEW SEWING ROOM
I have finished setting up my new sewing room. I love the way it turned out. A new floor, new paint, racking and bins for storage. A quaint space for me to do my sewing where I can leave things to finish later instead of having to pack up and set it up again. A great use for a room that was just used for storage previously. Lots of work, but well worth the effort.

SEWING ROOM
Last week I put 2 coats of paint on the walls and ripped up the old carpet. Today my husband and I put some new hardwood floors down. We started this morning at 9 and we joked about having it finished by noon and we did just that. And we even took a break. He put the flooring down and I did the sawing and fetching. I must have gone up and down the stairs about 50 times. Good job I had my knee brace on. I went to Lowes and got some quarter round and we thought we would get that on before we seized up. Tomorrow I'll paint the quarter round. Then I can move my shelving, table and ironing board in there. It will be so nice to have somewhere to leave my ironing board set up and my sewing machine. I just love the way it turned out. I did a lot of purging before I could do this. Lots of things went to Charity. Let someone else make use of something I no longer need or use.
Starting to put the flooring down.

THE GENERAL
Just finished quilting this quilt today. It is pieced with French General fabrics, so I have named the quilt "THE GENERAL" I quilted it with an all over free hand design of scattered feathers and swirls. I love how it turned out. Lots of texture in the quilting. Red is my favourite colour. I actually tea dyed all the fabrics to tone it down a bit and the effect was amazing. This is mine and I will treasure it. I have been pretty busy quilting customer quilts, but I snuck this one in just to get it done.

TOMATO HARVEST
Happy Sunday. Ready for roasting, tomatoes, onions and peppers. More sauce made for the freezer. I kept some out and made home made cream of tomato soup for lunch today. It was so good. I hope you all are enjoying this gorgeous day.

HORSE SHOW IN ALBERTA
I am home from Alberta. I left on Friday to go and judge a wonderful horse show. It was a big show and a great show with lots of gorgeous horses to judge. Long hours of judging. Saturday the show started at 8 am and finished at 11 pm. 15 hours of judging and I was so tired. Alberta is 2 hours behind us, so that was like 1 am Ontario time. I am in bed at 8 pm each night, so it was hard to stay alert until that time of night. Sunday was a 10 hour day so that was a little better. I am so glad to be home. I don't like flying and the flights were long. 4 hours each way and all the waiting time in airports, no thank you. I am just glad to be home. This is a picture of the futurity winner and the cheque and saddle that was given and the 4 judges.

CORIANDER AND MOOSE
Happy Sunday!! It sure has been a hot week here in Ontario and the flowers are flourishing. Cut some and put them in a Mason Jar in the kitchen. I love to do this. Took a picture of Coriander and Moose out in the pasture enjoying the morning.

HOW DOES MY GARDEN GROW

CROW WREATH
I love August and it always gets me thinking of Fall. I saw this crow wreath the other day and I just love it. So much character. I have been outside gardening since 7 this morning, and cleaned the stalls in the barn, and I loaded my next quilt on the frame. I am thinking Caesar salads for lunch today with lots of bacon. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. The weather here today is just perfect. T shirt weather, but not too hot. Just the way I like it!
Enjoy!

SUNFLOWERS
Good afternoon friends. A beautiful day today, no humidity for a change. Lots of quilting going on and gardening in between. My Sunflowers are growing like monsters this year. They are taller than me. So happy with them. A great week spent going on a quilt shop road trip with 2 friends and a delicious lunch at an Amish restaurant consisting of Perch, mashed potato, carrots, coleslaw, home made bread and butter and caramel cream pie for desert. Such a treat after being confined for a year and a half.

AUTUMN QUILT
I just finished quilting this gorgeous quilt this morning. It is a customer's quilt. She did an amazing job of choosing the colours and piecing it. I love the way the sunshine makes it sparkle and shows off the quilting texture! It was a pleasure to quilt. It reminds me of Autumn. I just wish it was mine.......I just might have to make myself one. It sure was a big quilt. It measures 100 x 106..WOW.

GARDEN SALAD
Happy Sunday! Things are starting to ripen in the garden and I made this delicious salad from some of the goodness from our garden. Some of it came from our Town's farmers' Market too. It was so good.
Love having fresh salads this time of year.

QUILTING TILL THE COWS COME HOME
Happy Saturday everyone. We sure got a lot of rain overnight. 2 !/2 inches and it is still raining today.
I am hoping to get caught up on quilting customer quilts that I have a pile of. No sooner they go out and more come in. I just hope I get some time to quilt some of my own, I have 3 of my own to get done. I am hoping to get my shop back open again this fall. I am sure missing it. I just got my second shot of the vaccine this week and it knocked the crap out of me. I was flat out for 12 hours. Fever, body aches, fatigue, you name it. So glad it is over.
Just thought I would post a picture of this quilt I quilted for a customer. It was one my favourites. The last picture is the back, she pieced it and I loved it. It can be reversed on her bed.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
Blessings

NEW FAMILY MEMBER
Good afternoon. The clouds are rolling in and I can hear thunder in the background. Hopefully some much needed rain. We got our hay off yesterday so it can rain all it wants now.
I wanted to post some pictures of our new family member who arrived last night. He is making himself right at home and fitting in well. Coriander just loves him. It is so nice to have some colour back in the barn again.

QUILTING
Lots of quilting going on these days. I love this quilt I just quilted for a customer. It turned out great.
I just LOVE free motion quilting. My husband and I went out this morning to the Garden centre and got some more herbs for my garden and a few more perennials. Got some delicious strawberries and asparagus and we'll be enjoying that for dinner tonight. We were lucky to have a nice rainfall overnight last night and all the gardens look great. Tomorrow Hay will be cut.
I hope you all are having a great day.
Blessings
