SPRING

Well, it is finally here..........Spring! It wasn't a bad winter, but it just seemed long and drawn out.

Washed all the bedding and hung it out on the clothesline to dry. Nothing better than going to bed smelling sheets that aired outside all day. Can't wait to get into the gardens. Things are starting to pop up and the birds are singing.

ANOTHER FINISH

Another quilt finished today. Spent the day putting the binding on. I love this one. I used up my scraps. Love the colors....reds, creams, greens, blacks and gold.

FINISHED

I finished the blue runner last night. The binding is on and my fingers are sore. I only had 10 positive blocks so I had to throw a negative in.....my "humble block". A blustery day here today. Can't even see across the field it is blowing snow so bad. The critters are all fed in the barn and they will spend the day inside. The horses don't like going out in this windy snowy weather.

BLUES

Another afternoon of quilting. I made another 9 Patch table runner, this time in creams and blues. My kitchen is Cranberry, Liberty Blue and Caramel in color, so I will be able to change this out with the red one from time to time.

The chicken is ready to come out of the oven for dinner. 

For dinner tonight we are having Oven Roasted Chicken, Butternut Squash, Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Carrots and Onions. I have a good appetite worked up after all that quilting this afternoon.

FINISHED

She's all finished! Binding on and on the table. I love, love, love, how this turned out. A good size too, 36 x 18. It looks great on my table. Red is my favourite color.

I am doing a little quilting this afternoon. Made myself a table runner with the leftover scraps from the red and cream quilt I made during all those snowy days.

SEEDS

Good morning!

I've been busy thinking of what I want to plant in my garden this year in the way of vegetables. I have been thinking of trying some of the heritage seeds and get some great different tomatoes and other veggies. I just purchased a Food Saver, so I'll be all set when harvest comes. I can't wait to get into the gardens. I am picturing my flower beds a couple of months from now, when things start popping up. Hope you are all having a great week.

MORE SNOW

I'm making the best of this snowy weather. Roads in the area are closed as we got a few more inches overnight. I just took these 2 loaves of bread out of the oven and my kitchen smells wonderful. I just love the smell of home baked bread. BLT's for lunch today. I managed to sew a few rows together on the red 9 patch quilt I am making, a load of laundry done and some vacuuming while the bread was rising. Hope to get some organizing done in my sewing room today too. Stay warm my friends, Spring will be here before we know it.

A SNOWY DAY

What a snowy day it was yesterday. We got over a foot of snow. A nice day to spend inside sewing. As you can see, I had some help laying out a quilt. Kit loved spending her birthday helping her mummy with some quilting. 

Kit was helping lay out the quilt blocks.

It was nice from the inside looking out!

A BIRTHDAY

Good morning! Today is a special day. It is my Jack Russell, Kit's birthday today. She turns 7 years old. Happy Birthday!

GORGEOUS BEARS

Greetings! I have been super busy working on a website for a long time friend who hand makes the most gorgeous hand made genuine Mohair teddy bears. She is a wonderful talented artist. I hope to have everything finished and up in the next few days. Here is a "Sneak Peak".

BAKING, BAKING, AND MORE BAKING

I was up early this morning baking. Fed the horses and put them out, baked some home made whole wheat and honey bread and some cherry muffins. I froze cherries from our cherry tree this past year and have been using them in muffins. They are delicious! You can see the bread has been sampled. I hope everyone is keeping warm on this snowy weekend.

TAKE THE HINT

Some people just don't get it............people avoid you because they no longer want anything to do with you for whatever reason. Leave them alone......take the hint, then take a hike!!!!

BAKING BREAD

Thought I would bake some home made bread today. I made whole wheat this time. I just took it out of the oven and my kitchen smells wonderful. They will be cooled in time for lunch. I am going to make some black forest ham sandwiches with Butternut Squash soup. I hope you are all having a great day!!!
