First of all, I would like to thank everyone who sent emails of well wishes for Shorty and also to those who left comments on my Blog and kept her in your thoughts and prayers. I took this picture this morning, and as you can see she has recovered from her stroke.  I am so grateful. I was worried sick about her and sat up with her at night. She gradually got better over the weekend, and can now stand up and walk around. Last Wednesday night she could not stand or even hold her head up. She was laying there almost dead like. I will tell you about how Shorty became part of our family. First off, she is around 15 years old. A neighbor of ours worked in a Vet clinic and 8 years ago Shorty was brought in to be euthanized by her owner, stating that she did not get along with men. My neighbor took the dog, and the $75.00 fee and then brought her to me. I had told her a few months before that if she found a Jack Russell a little older that needed a home I would like one. She has lived with us for the past 8 years and she is the best dog one could ask for. BTW she gets along with men just fine. The $75.00 was donated to the Humane Society.
Shorty and I hope everyone has a great week.
And again, THANK YOU :)

  1. So glad Shorty is ok, and that she lives in a home full of love! Wishing you and Shorty a great week as well!

  2. What great news! It is awesome that you were able to save her life and fill it with love.May she continue to do well!Have a great week,Jen

  3. Janet,

Oh the power of prayer and lots of love worked a miracle! Here's hoping that Shorty has many, many more years left in her. Such a sweet story of how she came to you. What a terrible reason to put down a dog...that it didn't get along with men. Maybe it was the kinda men the former owner associated with? Glad you were able to take her in and give her a good home.

    Have a great day.

  4. Little Shorty girl looks beautiful!! I'm so glad she is recovering well.
Hugs and sloppy kisses from her Auntie Karen and fur cousins.

  5. She looks like our Jack Russell, Sadie. I adore that dog.
So happy to hear that Shorty is doing so well.

  6. oh Janet, I am so glad she is doing so much better...thats Love for you..;) thanks for updating us on her condition..;)Take care..;)

  8. I am so relieved to hear that Shorty is doing well Janet, what a relief for you! And what a lovely story as to how you came by your beloved Jack Russell.
I hope she continues to thrive and has many more years ahead of her,

  9. What a happy ending :-)
Dogs do get over strokes, unlike humans so well. but at 15, Shorty is a little star. So pleased to see your post :-) x x x
Well done Shorty, lots of love x
