A GREAT WEEKEND

Just had a great weekend. My sister in law came down from Maynooth to help me set up my shop.
We had a great time and it looks wonderful. Here are few pictures.

A GREAT WEEKEND

I just had a great weekend. Spent Saturday working at the "Harvest at the Mill" show in Holly Michigan and then I spent the night at my good friend Earlene's home. I just LOVE Earlene's home. It has been featured in Country Sampler and A Primitive Place magazine in the past. It is just gorgeous, so many great primitives in her home. It was just so cozy. I just loved visiting with Earlene and her husband and of course her 2 lovely cats, they made feel so welcome. Earlene gave me a tour of her lovely gardens and they are just breathtaking.

On Sunday she took me antiquing and we visited a couple of lovely Primitive shops and her daughters Antique Mall. An unforgettable weekend for sure. I hope you all have a great week.

A GREAT FIND

I was out and about last weekend and I made this purchase. I have always wanted an Antique PFAFF machine and I finally got one. It works like a charm! I'll be sewing in style now.

CANNING SEASON IS HERE

It is that time of year again. Canning season is in full swing. I have made some Apple Chutney and Pickled Beets. Pear Chutney is next!

WHEAT HARVEST

Today is the start of our wheat harvest. I snapped a couple of pictures of my husband on the job.

I took some pictures of our vegetable garden tonight. We just had a nice salad with Lettuce and Kale from the garden along with a roast beef dinner with roasted onions and carrots and squash.

Our Louis had his summer trim last Friday. He is now enjoying being much cooler.

My horses are just loving this nice weather. They have been out grazing every day from sun up to sun down. Seeing they are old horses, their winter hair is hanging on, but hopefully it will come out soon. Lots of elbow grease for sure.

HANDWORK SEWING GROUP

I have been thinking about starting up a small group for handwork sewing, stitching, hooking, quilting or whatever you do that doesn't require electricity because it is going to be back at my cabin. It is such a nice place to sit and sew. Maybe one day a month? There is a wood stove in there for the cool fall days. Bring your lunch, but we can have the odd barbecue too. It is a small jaunt about a 5-7 minute walk from my house back there, but you wouldn't be carrying sewing machines...........Just something I am thinking about. It would be fun.

BREAKFAST AT THE SUGAR SHACK

Thursday morning some of my friends and I had wonderful breakfast at a local Maple Sugar Shack.

We met there first thing in the morning and we were their first customers of the day. What a way to spend some friends time together and to start the day. It was delicious. The maple syrup season is ending this weekend, so I am glad we managed to squeeze in a visit. I took some pictures, so I hope you enjoy them.

PRIMITIVE SHOW

I had a wonderful time this weekend at the primitive show in Holly, Michigan.
Spring Plantings is the name of the show and it is filled with wonderful antiques. The Vendors spend so much time searching out and bringing them to the show for us. Here is a picture of my friend Earlene, from Michigan and I. Earlene is such a sweet friend.

FINALLY

Well I think Spring is just about here. I finally saw a Robin today. Pretty soon we will be raking up after the long winter and cutting the grass. I'll be able to get busy working on my new shop.  I worked on it up to Christmas and then we just got too much snow. I am thankful that my water didn't freeze in the barn this winter. Last winter I was carrying buckets from the house to the barn from January until May.
