FOLKART PAINTING BOOKS

Is there anyone out there who does Folkart (Tole) painting??????? I have 50 plus books and some wooden pieces that I would like to sell. I would like to sell them as a lot. If you know anyone who would be interested please email me at janetmcclure1@gmail.com
They would  have to be picked up at my home. They would be too heavy to ship.
Have a great weekend everyone!

UPDATE ON THE BAT

I have had numerous people email me as to the update on the Bat. So here is the update. I hunted high and low all day for it and couldn't find it. DH and I were watching the 11 o'clock news that night and the thing came flying out. DH caught it and put it outside. Hopefully we will not have another one this summer. They are too creepy for me :(

GUESS WHO?????

GHESS WHO..............got sprayed by a skunk????? Sometimes I call her a devil with the face of an angel :) She can be a little SOD sometimes. When she gets running around with her brothers Sydney and Louis, they like to get adventurous. They like to chase and root critters out. This time Kit rooted out a skunk and found out the hard way that skunks must be left alone. Boy did she stink! I gave her a bath with White Nectarine & Pink Coral Flower scented Herbal Essences shampoo/conditioner and now she smells wonderful, not a trace of skunk smell. This is all I needed today. I spent the whole day vacuuming, cleaning windows, washing curtains, dusting and polishing. I thought I would have a nice quiet evening until all this excitement happened. Never a dull moment on the farm :)
Here she is getting her bath
Thank goodness for this.

AN UNINVITED GUEST

At 3:30 this morning I was awakened by the sound of our cat Kenya running around downstairs. She was chasing a bat. Sometimes bats get into our house through the woodstove chimney. Our home is over 150 years old, so this happens a few times each summer. Usually in the morning, I can see where it has landed and it is usually hanging on something sleeping for day. That is when I get an empty coffee can and put it over the bat, then slide a piece of cardboard in behind the can trapping it. Then I take it outside to release it. BUT..............today, I CANNOT FIND IT :(
I will keep hunting so that I don't have the thing flying around again tonight. I hate it when they get into my house. They scare the U NO WHAT out of me!

MUMMY'S GIRL

Kit, my little Jack Russell has had her nose out of joint since I brought Kenya (Dad's cat) home to live with us last month. Kit will not leave my side. She stays with me in the kitchen and she is even waiting on the mat beside the shower when I come out. She thinks Kenya is going to become Mummy's girl and not her. I tell her that she will always be Mummy's girl, but somehow I don't think she believes me. I took some pictures of her in my kitchen. I was doing the dishes and she was laying there waiting. She is nice and white, I gave her a bath today. She always  wants to know where Kenya is. Kit is such a sweetheart and I just love her dearly. I am so glad she came into my life last February :)

A GREAT WEEK WITH FRIENDS

This has been a great week with friends and it is not over yet. On Monday, my friend Heather invited me over to her home for a day of sewing and for lunch. We had a great time and Heather made us a delicious salad for lunch with grilled chicken, cheese and greens. We sewed up a storm until around 3 pm. Yesterday was another great day. I was invited to go on a Quilters' Shop Tour with some more of my quilting friends, Linda, Sheila, and Mary Anne.  We started out at 8:30 in the morning and I didn't get home until 7:30 pm and we covered over 500 kms! We visited quilt shops in Shelburne, Alliston, Erin and Fergus, ON. We had lunch at one of my favorite eating places when I am up in that area called the Globe. It is a wonderful restaurant situated in an old hotel that was built in the 1800's. It is decorated with period antiques and it just has a wonderful atmosphere. The food is delicious and homemade of course. Our waiter, David gave us great service. I took a few pictures of our lunch to share with all of you. Tonight will be another great time.......dinner at Shirley's. She is a wonderful cook and she also owns a fabulous Quilt Shop called The Marsh Store, in Coldstream, ON. This will be with my friends from our little quilting group that we started over five years ago with Shirley, Brenda, Linda, Michelle, and Mary. Life is good when it is filled with such wonderful friends :)

GARDEN PICTURES

I just thought I would take a few pictures of some of the flowers in my garden. It has been so hot and dry here in Ontario that they need constant watering. This morning I was out in the barn at 5:30 and I heard the first attempt of one of our Roosters trying to crow. I didn't know what the noise was at first, I thought something had gotten into the chicken coop. I went and took a look and I saw the little guy trying to crow for the first time. It was actually an awful sound.  It turns out we have 4 roosters. We bought 24 laying hens and they were supposedly sexed when we got them but I think someone was sleeping on the job!
I planted some herbs in this old wash tub. Orange Thyme, Rosemary, & Sage

Some Shasta Daisies.

Echinacea (Purple Coneflower)

Hydrangeas are gorgeous this year

HOMEMADE RASPBERRY PIE

It is hotter that heck here in Ontario. Last night was a full moon and it was hard to sleep. Cats fighting outside the window, dogs barking, owls hooting, fireworks going off and the list goes on. DH picked me some raspberries early this morning and I made a pie before it got too hot outside. It was delicious! My SIL gave us some raspberry plants last year when we were up north visiting her and her husband last fall. We are getting berries this year.

OUR CHICKEN FLOCK

I just took a picture of our chickens starting to roost for the night. I couldn't get them all in the picture, but here are a few of them. Can you spot a rooster in the bunch?............Maybe some of you with chicken experience can tell. I think the one with the larger comb and the wattle is a rooster. It just looks different than the rest. They are still young and not laying yet. What do you think? I don't think they liked me taking their picture while they were trying to settle in for the night.

The one on the left side is the one that I think may be a Rooster
