THANK YOU AND NEW FAMILY MEMBER

KENYA
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who sent emails, cards, and left comments on my Blog regarding the passing of Dad. My quilting friends BRENDA, LINDA, SHIRLEY, MARY and MICHELLE sent me a lovely gift basket with cheeses, nuts, spreads, and even some chocolate. It is times like this that friends are so much appreciated, both online friends and real life friends. It has been a very hard last few days. Today would have been Dad's birthday, and yesterday Father's Day, but time will ease the pain. This is Kenya, Dad's cat. I brought her home with me on the plane. She travelled 3000 miles in the cargo hold of a 737 here to Ontario from British Columbia. She needed a home and my sisters could not take her as their animals weren't used to cats, so she has made herself at home with us. We joke about our farm...we call it "Last Chance Ranch" because of all of the critters we have adopted over the years.

  1. Oh...so much the harder - father's day, and his birthday.... My father passed on Easter Sunday morning - many, many, years ago....and as joyous a day as that blessed day is, it does not go by without a tear in my heart...... Kenya is a beautiful cat....so glad she is with you. Your dad must be smiling down on the two of you..... Take good care, Janet - still praying for comfort and healing for you.....Hugs ~ Robin

  4. So glad you could take Kenya, Janet, as she just wants to eat all of my birds so that wouldn't have worked at all. She looks very comfortable there with you! I started to cry today as I found a Father's Day card and a birthday card I had bought for him that I had forgotten about. :-( Yes, time will heal, but it will take a long while. So nice that we three daughters got to spend time together and that you got here in time to see Dad while he was still somewhat lucid.
